Job summary

Rimfire Resources is seeking a commercially astute Finance Business Partner to join our large-scale horticultural operations in Mooroopna, Victoria. You will partner with farm management and senior leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights to improve performance and drive strategic initiatives.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and capital plans, build robust models, and provide scenario analysis to challenge assumptions and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA with accounting/finance degree.
• 5+ years post-qualification experience including 2+ years in finance business partnering.
• Strong financial modelling and investment appraisal skills.
• Experience in manufacturing/supply chain environments.
• Excellent Excel and ERP/BI proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-to-serve models (cost per tonne, bin, SKU, production line) to improve operational visibility.
• Analyse labour productivity, wage/EA impacts, and shift structures for efficiency.
• Monitor throughput, asset utilisation and production performance; translate metrics to commercial outcomes.
• Provide commercial analysis on storage, inventory, and asset performance for decision making.
• Own annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow, and capex plans for the facility.

The Company

Our client is a leading horticultural business with large-scale farming operations, state-of-the-art packing facilities, cold storage, and a diversified domestic and export distribution network. The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this high-impact Finance Business Partner position is based in Mooroopna, Victoria, and supports key horticultural operations across the Goulburn Valley and Riverina regions. It provides strategic financial leadership, commercial insight and operational partnering to farm management and senior leaders, with a focus on financial performance, capital investment and operational efficiency across several horticultural businesses.

You will partner with operational managers, commercial stakeholders and senior executives, translating financial information into actionable business insights that improve financial performance and support long-term strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining detailed cost-to-serve models, including cost per tonne, bin, SKU and production line to improve visibility of operational performance.
• Analysing labour productivity, enterprise agreement impacts, workforce planning and shift structures to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and cost optimisation.
• Monitoring throughput, asset utilisation and production performance, translating operational metrics into meaningful commercial outcomes.
• Providing commercial analysis around storage utilisation, inventory management and asset performance to support operational decision-making.
• Owning annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow forecasts and capital expenditure plans for the facility.
• Building robust financial models and business cases to support capital investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Leading month-end close activities, reporting, variance analysis and stakeholder reporting to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Acting as a trusted adviser to operational leaders by challenging assumptions, providing scenario analysis and identifying opportunities to improve business performance.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute finance professional who can bridge the gap between finance and operations while providing practical, data-driven recommendations to support business growth and performance.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• CA or CPA qualification with a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience, including at least two years in a finance business partnering role within manufacturing, processing, supply chain or operational environments.
• Strong financial modelling skills with the ability to independently develop investment appraisals, business cases and long-term financial forecasts.
• Demonstrated success delivering measurable cost reduction initiatives and performance improvements.
• Advanced Excel capability and experience with ERP systems, reporting platforms and business intelligence tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence operational leaders and present financial information in a practical and meaningful way.
• Experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing, packing, logistics, cold storage or similar operational environments will be highly regarded.
• A collaborative approach, strong commercial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
