Job summary

Absolute Executive Recruitment Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Commercial Finance Lead who will shape budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting across a multi-entity portfolio. You will partner with senior leaders and business heads to unpack performance drivers, steer strategic decisions and bring a strategic lens to P&A activities. Involvement in treasury, debt facilities and capital allocation modelling is expected, with autonomy and rapid decision-making.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with 10+ years of FP&A experience.
• Background in listed or private property businesses is essential.
• Strong FP&A experience across a multi-entity structure.
• Experience leading people and engaging with senior stakeholders and owners.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting across a multi-entity portfolio.
• Collaborate with business unit leaders to unpack performance drivers and steer decisions.
• Apply a strategic lens to P&A performance with scenario planning and sensitivity work.
• Support asset valuation analysis that informs banking and funding conversations.
• Involve in treasury matters, including debt facilities and reporting.
• Model capital allocation and funding decisions to inform strategy.
• Strengthen forecasting and budgeting capabilities to scale with growth.
• Champion AI-assisted reporting and insights to sharpen decision-making.

About the job

A newly created Commercial Finance Lead role, with genuine influence over commercial reporting, insights and strategy across a diversified portfolio. You'll work closely with senior leadership and business unit heads, with real input into how the business understands and improves its performance.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting across a multi-entity portfolio, and find better ways to deliver it
• Work alongside business unit leaders to unpack what's driving performance, test their thinking, and help steer decisions across the group
• Bring a strategic lens to P&A performance, surfacing risk and opportunity through scenario planning and sensitivity work
• Contribute to how the group's assets are valued, including analysis that supports banking and funding conversations
• Get involved in treasury matters, including debt facilities and the reporting that comes with them
• Help inform how the group thinks about capital allocation and funding, including the modelling that sits behind those decisions
• Strengthen the group's forecasting and budgeting muscle so it can keep pace with a growing, multi-faceted business
• Champion smarter ways of working, including practical use of AI to sharpen reporting and insight
• Jump into ad hoc projects and analysis as business priorities evolve

About you

• CA/CPA qualified, with 10+ years' relevant experience
• Background in listed or private property businesses is essential
• Strong FP&A experience, ideally gained across a diversified or multi-entity structure
• Comfortable getting into the weeds of a P&A to explain the real story behind the numbers
• Has led and developed people before
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and owners
