What's on offer?
We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic Commercial Director with proven business acumen gained from your firsthand experience in large infrastructure projects/high volume program (>$300 million/pa) environments, to join our Fulton Hogan Utilities business in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your career within a vibrant joint venture delivery team that is proud to partner with our blue-chip Government client to deliver world class water services for the customers and communities within which we operate.

The role will see you accountable for managing all contractual, financial and project controls aspects of the 10 year program of capital works and maintenance services, ensuring key obligations and objectives are met and complied with at a project, program and organisational level.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

• Managing the large team that makes up the commercial support function for the joint venture, comprising contracts management, finance and project controls
• JV Board Secretariat
• Member of the JV Senior Leadership Team (effectively 2IC to the Program Director)
• Overseeing program-wide time and cost control, monthly forecasting and preparation of monthly reporting
• Using your commercial negotiation skills to successfully resolve contractual issues
• Proactively responding to changes in client needs and expectations and developing collaborative relationships formed on trust.

How you'll connect to the role:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying, commercial law, construction management, business management, engineering or a related discipline
• Comprehensive knowledge of major project/program commercial requirements based on firsthand experience working for a large construction contractor
• Sound knowledge in the application of the NEC4 suite of contracts an advantage
• Firsthand experience with joint venture enterprises an advantage
• Ability to apply various techniques to seek constructive outcomes to contract negotiations, including ability to influence others and defend commercial positions.
