Cleanaway is seeking a Commercial Manager – Fleet to drive the financial and operational performance of its national fleet. You’ll partner with Heads of Fleet and senior stakeholders, build financial models, assess investments and translate strategy into measurable outcomes.

This senior role blends strategic planning with hands-on delivery, influencing major decisions to improve productivity, cost efficiency and value across a large asset-intensive operation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial finance, commercial management, business partnering or a similar role.
• Strong financial modelling, business case development and scenario analysis capability.
• Experience supporting or leading strategic, transformation, productivity or cost-improvement initiatives.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting skills.
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations and action.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve fleet productivity, utilisation, cost efficiency and overall commercial performance.
• Develop meaningful reporting, KPIs and analytics that provide clear, actionable insights.
• Partner with stakeholders across Fleet, Finance, Operations and Procurement to influence decisions and drive outcomes.

About the opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager – Fleet to play a key role in driving the financial and operational performance of Cleanaway’s national fleet.

Partnering closely with our Heads of Fleet and senior stakeholders across the business, you’ll provide commercial leadership across a significant multi-million-dollar portfolio of strategic fleet initiatives. You’ll bring commercial discipline, strong financial insight and a clear focus on turning strategy into measurable, sustainable outcomes.

This is a highly visible role for a commercially minded leader who enjoys working at both a strategic and hands‑on level — from building financial models and assessing investment decisions to influencing senior stakeholders and driving delivery.

About you

You’ll be an experienced commercial professional who can confidently move between detailed analysis and senior‑level conversations. You’ll bring:

• Experience supporting or leading strategic, transformation, productivity or cost‑improvement initiatives
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting skills
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders within a large, complex organisation
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations and action
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
• Experience within fleet, transport, logistics, infrastructure, waste or another asset‑intensive environment will be highly regarded
