Job summary

Charterhouse is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its commercial team in Sydney. You will own reporting processes, analyse commercial data, and drive improvements across systems and controls.

A background in accounting, finance or data analysis will help you contribute to business improvements and accurate decision support. You will work with the Commercial Manager to maintain data integrity, deliver timely reporting, and translate complex data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, accounting or data analysis with commercial exposure.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/CA qualification or in progress.
• Strong Excel skills and data reporting experience.
• Ability to translate data into commercial insights.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and quarter-end reporting, with data analysis and reconciliations.
• Analyse commercial data, investigate variances and deliver insights.
• Maintain and improve key reporting frameworks for accuracy and defensibility.

Commercial Analyst $100,000 + super + bonus | Permanent

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with data, improving processes and turning complex information into meaningful insights?

We’re partnering with an established organisation to recruit a Commercial Analyst to join its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, finance or data analysis who is looking to broaden their commercial exposure, take ownership of key reporting processes and contribute to business improvement initiatives.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you’ll play an important role in maintaining the integrity of commercial data, delivering accurate reporting and identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing month-end and quarter-end reporting, including data analysis, reconciliations and reporting outputs.


• Analysing commercial data, investigating variances and translating findings into meaningful insights.


• Managing and continuously improving key reporting frameworks to ensure accurate, reliable and defensible outputs.


• Using Excel and Power BI to enhance reporting visibility and support commercial decision‑making.


• Investigating data discrepancies across systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.


• Reviewing and improving commercial processes, controls and documentation to increase efficiency and minimise errors.


• Managing changes to supplier and other business entity information, ensuring accurate system updates and reporting.


• Working with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate data requirements and resolve issues.


• Contributing to ad hoc commercial analysis, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You’re analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of your work. You enjoy getting into the detail of data, questioning inconsistencies and finding practical ways to improve processes.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Experience in an analytical role within finance, accounting or a commercial environment.


• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CPA/CA qualification or currently working towards it.


• Strong Excel skills and experience working with data, reporting and reconciliations.


• Exposure to Power BI or other reporting and data visualisation tools.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.


• The ability to communicate findings clearly and translate data into meaningful commercial insights.


• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
