Job summary

Qantas is seeking a Commercial Analyst to support the Commercial Development team from Mascot Head Office. You will translate data into strategic insights and deliver reporting, analytics and commercial recommendations to drive revenue growth and customer outcomes.

You will design and automate reporting across multiple data sources, evaluate performance against strategic objectives, and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a strategic, commercial analytics or BI role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Technology or related discipline.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with data from multiple sources.
• Experience producing reporting and insights to support performance decisions.
• Strong commercial acumen translating data into business recommendations.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; data visualization proficiency.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across functions and excellent communication.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As the Commercial Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting our Commercial Development team through the delivery of strategic projects, customer insights, analytics and commercial recommendations. Working within Global Sales & Distribution, you will help shape the strategies that drive revenue growth, sales performance and customer outcomes across the business. You will work across a mix of strategic projects and be responsible for designing, developing and automating reporting solutions that provide meaningful insights into operational performance, customer behaviour and key business metrics.

Leveraging data from multiple sources, you'll identify emerging trends, evaluate performance against strategic objectives and translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders. You will help drive continuous improvement through enhanced reporting, process automation and data-led decision making. You'll also play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, commercial outcomes and sales effectiveness.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, commercially minded and curious by nature, with a passion for transforming data into insights that influence strategic business decisions.

You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar strategic, commercial, analytics, business intelligence or related role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Technology or a related discipline.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Demonstrated experience producing reporting, analysis and insights that support business performance and decision making.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI and data visualisation tools.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience working across multiple business functions.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights effectively to a range of audiences.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
