The Living Company is seeking a Commercial Analyst in Sydney to own financial planning, forecasting, and commercial analysis across the sales portfolio. You will partner with Sales and Finance leaders, build and maintain financial models, and deliver insights to senior stakeholders.

In this high‑visibility role, you will help shape performance reporting, develop KPIs for Sales and Marketing, and contribute to Power BI and BI roadmap initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in sales analysis, financial analysis, or a similar commercial analyst role; real estate experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills with complex models and forecasting tools
• Ability to navigate large data sets and multi‑layered models
• Experience using Power BI to develop dashboards and reporting

Reports To: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

The Opportunity

As a Commercial Analyst, you'll be a pivotal member of the Finance team, owning the financial planning, forecasting and commercial analysis that underpins Aveo's sales performance. Working closely with Sales leaders, you'll help identify performance trends, assess risks, and surface opportunities that shape how the business plans and sells. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining financial models and forecasting tools, preparing regular performance reporting, and delivering clear insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders. You'll ensure the accuracy of sales data and financial models, run variance analysis against budget and forecast, and provide ongoing visibility into sales performance across the portfolio. This is a high-visibility role that also contributes to the development of Sales KPIs and the broader Power BI and business intelligence roadmap.

Your Impact

• Analyse sales drivers and performance metrics, translating data into clear, actionable insights for decision-making


• Act as a business partner to sales and finance leaders, delivering weekly forecasting and modelling highlighting sales data and supporting business planning


• Prepare regular sales, marketing and FP&A reports for senior leaders and executive stakeholders


• Support monthly financial results, including variance analysis and short-term forecasting


• Build, maintain and continuously improve financial models, datasets and Excel-based tools


• Contribute to the development and measurement of KPIs for the Sales and Marketing teams


• Partner with IT and Data teams to enhance Power BI reporting and broader business intelligence

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years in a sales analysis, financial analysis, or a similar commercial analyst role — property or real estate sales experience is a plus, not a requirement


• Advanced Excel skills are essential, with demonstrated experience building complex models, forecasting tools or analytical spreadsheets (e.g. dynamic forecasting models with linked assumptions, consolidating large datasets into a single source of truth, or automating recurring reporting to save manual effort)


• Proven ability to navigate large volumes of data and intricate, multi-layered models with confidence and accuracy


• Experience using Power BI (or similar) to develop dashboards and reporting.


• Experience working with CRM systems to manage sales data and pipeline reporting is an advantage


• Strong analytical capability with a proactive, curious and detail-oriented mindset


• Ability to clearly communicate financial insights to senior and executive stakeholders


• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment


• Degree in Business, Commerce, or related discipline
