Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking a Commercial Analyst to deliver analytical support to the Senior Commercial Supplier Manager. The role focuses on maximizing value in supplier partnerships, monitoring performance, and optimizing inventory and COGS. You will turn data into insights for trading teams to improve margins.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne in a hybrid role, you will prepare data-intensive materials for executives and support cross-functional teams across Trading, Supply Chain, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and numerical skills gained through 3-5 years in an analytical role.
• Degree qualified in commerce, accounting, economics or finance.
• Extensive experience using relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to tell stories with data and engage others via visualization.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• COGS and Margin analysis: develop models to track margin improvements via supplier terms.
• Inventory optimization: assess health, identify slow-moving stock, improve working capital.
• Financial visibility: create dashboards to enhance financial transparency of supplier performance.
• Supplier strategy alignment: assist in category-specific supplier strategies with EDG goals.
• Terms compliance: ensure supplier agreements meet EDG strategy and benefits.
• Project support: provide commercial data for transformation projects (e.g., AI inventory).
• Stakeholder collaboration: work with Trading, Supply Chain and Finance to drive growth.
• Executive preparation: prepare data-heavy presentations for executives and suppliers.
• Relationship management: build data-led supplier partnerships and internal collaboration.
• Culture & Values: exemplify Ways of Working and support customer value function.

TheCommercial Analystprovides critical analytical support to the Senior Commercial Supplier Manager, focusing on maximizing value within supplier partnerships.

This role is responsible for monitoring supplier performance, ensuring adherence to commercial terms, and optimizing inventory and COGS. You will transform data into actionable insights that allow the trading teams to improve margin delivery.

• COGS & Margin Analysis: Detail COGS models to track and identify margin improvements via better supplier terms.
• Inventory Optimization: Provide analytics to assess inventory health, identify slow-moving stock, and optimize working capital per EDG strategy.
• Financial Visibility: Develop reports/dashboards to increase transparency and accountability of financial outcomes related to supplier performance.
• Supplier Strategy Alignment: Support SCM/trading in developing category-specific supplier strategies aligned with EDG value creation goals.
• Terms Compliance: Ensure supplier agreements comply with EDG strategy and negotiated benefits are realized.
• Project Support: Offer commercial data and analytics for transformation projects (e.g., supply chain automation, AI inventory).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work across Trading, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive growth and ensure commercial objectives are understood.
• Executive Preparation: Assist SCM by preparing data-heavy presentations and action plans for executives and supplier meetings.
• Relationship Management: Build strong, data-led partnerships with suppliers and internal agencies for smooth commercial operations.
• Culture & Values: Exemplify Endeavour Group's "Ways of Working" and support the broader Customer Value function.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and numerical skills gained through 3-5 years experience in previous analytical role
• Degree qualified in commerce, accounting, economics, finance
• Extensive experience using relational databases - any flavour of SQL
• Ability to tell stories with data and engage others through data visualisation
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Exceptional communicator (verbal and written)
• Strong aptitude and curiousity for problem solving
• High attention to detail
• Experience with Tableau
• Understanding of category management and buying principles - e.g. shelf management, merchandising, ranging, promotional and pricing strategies
