Job summary

HTR Group is recruiting a Commercial Advisor for a Defence sector contract based in Canberra, ACT. The role is an initial 11-month assignment with possible extensions. Start ASAP with flexi-time and remote work where possible.

The incumbent will support commercial negotiations, contract performance, and procurement activities within the Sustainment team, ensuring compliance and effective stakeholder engagement across Defence programs.

Qualifications

• AGSVA Security Clearance required.
• Defence sector experience essential.
• Tertiary qualification in Contract Management or related field, or 5+ years' experience as Commercial Advisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director on commercial matters including contract negotiations and review of deliverables.
• Provide administrative management of the Contract Suite and commercial support for transition activities.
• Lead and manage implementation of the Australian Industry Capability plan (AICP) within the Sustainment framework.
• Provide commercial advice and support on procurement and sustainment risks, ensuring compliance.

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Commercial Advisor, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra ACT. The contract is for an initial 11 month period, with possible extensions option.

Start: ASAP

DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Contract Management & Contract Performance

The Commercial Advisor will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

• Assist the Program Director on commercial matters, such as contract negotiations, contract advice, review of contract deliverables and Commercial tasks related to the program.
• Provide administrative management of the Contract Suite .
• Provide commercial support on the transition of the DHFCS to EDHFCS.
• Lead and manage the Contractors implementation of the Australian Industry Capability (AIC) plan (AICP).
• Resolve and obtain endorsement on commercial matters as required.
• Provide commercial procurement support and advice as required.
• Ensure procurement compliancy is achieved and maintained within the Sustainment team.
• Review Deliverables and provide commercial advice and support as required.
• Provide commercial advice and support to sustainment team members.
• Provide commercial support on identifying and managing sustainment risks.

Minimum mandatory requirements:

• AGSVA Security Clearance
• Defence experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Contract Management or related field, or at least
• 5 years' experience as a Commercial Advisor.
• Understanding of ASDEFCON Support, Support Short and Strategic Materiel.
• Knowledge of, and experience in the One Defence Capability System
• (ODCS).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in Capability Products in the Defence and/or CASG environment.
• Understanding of technical, logistical, and operational requirements in the delivery of capability, and knowledge of applicable Defence policy and legislation.
• Understanding AIC requirements, policy and AIC contractor management.
