Searo is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning strategy and testing across our renewable energy projects in Victoria. You will coordinate construction teams, EPC contractors and suppliers to ensure all systems are commissioned to project specs, safety standards and contractual obligations.

You will drive pre‑commissioning, commissioning and energisation activities for Solar PV, inverters and BESS, while maintaining rigorous documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Must hold an A‑Grade Electrical Licence.
• 5+ years on renewable energy projects.
• Proven experience leading commissioning on utility‑scale solar projects.
• Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) commissioning is highly regarded.
• Experience working within EPC project environments.
• Strong knowledge of high‑voltage electrical systems and grid compliance.
• Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management.
• Safety‑first mindset and ability to lead commissioning teams in live projects.

• Coordinate commissioning resources, specialist subcontractors, equipment suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Lead all pre‑commissioning, commissioning, energisation and performance testing activities.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of Solar PV arrays, inverters, communications systems and BESS infrastructure.
• Review and approve commissioning procedures, test scripts, reports and quality documentation.
• Manage switching, isolations, permit‑to‑work systems and energisation processes safely.
• Champion a safety culture through risk assessments and site procedures.
• Monitor, manage and close out defects, punch‑list items and commissioning‑related issues.
• Act as the primary point of contact for commissioning activities, facilitating meetings and stakeholder updates.
• Maintain accurate commissioning records and reporting and ensure documentation is properly archived.

The Role

As the Commissioning Manager, you will be the central point of coordination between construction teams, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and project stakeholders. You will drive commissioning strategy, oversee testing activities and ensure all systems are commissioned in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements and contractual obligations.

This role will play a critical part in achieving project milestones and delivering a successful outcome for one of Victoria’s major renewable energy developments.

Your Everyday

Who Are You?

• A current A‑Grade Electrical Licence (essential).
• 5+ years’ experience working on renewable energy projects.
• Previous experience leading commissioning activities on utility‑scale solar projects.
• Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) commissioning highly regarded.
• Experience working within EPC project environments.
• Strong knowledge of high‑voltage electrical systems and grid compliance requirements.
• Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A safety‑first mindset and a proven ability to lead commissioning teams in a live project environment.
