Job summary

Chandler Recruitment is hiring a Cold Storage Labourer for a busy food manufacturing site in Melbourne. You will de-stack and restack frozen pallets, work inside a freezer, and maintain safe, efficient pallet configurations while supporting daily production targets.

This hands-on role requires physical fitness, reliability and the ability to follow procedures in a team environment. Forklift experience is desirable but not essential, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Comfortable in a cold/freezer environment.
• Reliable, punctual and with a strong work ethic.
• Able to follow instructions and workplace procedures.
• Able to perform manual handling and stand for long periods.
• Able to work well in a team.
• Experience in warehouse/production/food manufacturing is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• De-stack frozen cartons from pallets after freezing.
• Restack frozen cartons into solid, secure formations.
• Work inside a freezer environment for extended periods.

Cold Storage Labourer – Food Manufacturing

We are currently seeking reliable and physically fit Freezer Labourers to join a busy food manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on role involving the handling and restacking of frozen products within a freezer environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for de‑stacking and restacking frozen pallets to ensure products are stored correctly and pallet space is maximised for transport.

The role involves:

• De‑stacking frozen cartons from pallets after the freezing process
• Restacking frozen cartons into a solid and secure formation
• Working inside a freezer environment for extended periods
• Ensuring pallets are stacked safely and efficiently
• Handling cartons and performing repetitive manual tasks
• Following workplace health, safety and food‑handling procedures
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements

About You

We are looking for people who are:

• Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive manual work
• Comfortable working in a cold/freezer environment
• Reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
• Able to follow instructions and workplace procedures
• Comfortable with manual handling and standing for extended periods
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous warehouse, production or food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential

Forklift licence and experience is highly desirable but not essential, with opportunities for licensed operators to assist with pallet movement.
