Job summary

Nomad Coffee Group is hiring a Coffee Roaster/Green Bean Loader for a late shift at our Truganina site in Victoria. You will operate a Brambati roaster and green bean loading equipment, maintaining a steady production flow while meeting QA standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing.
• Roasting experience and coffee quality knowledge preferred.
• Mechanically-minded with aptitude for automated equipment operation.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP and GMP; strong attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate Brambati green loader and 600kg roaster to maintain product flow and meet production targets.
• Prepare and maintain accurate QC and maintenance records.
• Receive, move, check and store green bean goods between warehouse and storage facilities.
• Coordinate with production supervisors on roasting schedules and bean requirements.
• Safely operate forklift and other industrial tools.
• Follow SQF and quality procedures; ensure site cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Use roasting software to analyse and optimise roastery operations.

Operating as Black Bag Roasters we have a purpose-built facility with state-of-the-art equipment. This site is a monumental milestone for Nomad Coffee Group and positions the company for some exciting growth.

We are currently seeking a Coffee Roaster/Green Bean Loader. These coffee roasting positions are the ideal way to progress to the next step of your coffee career. You will have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and develop into a complete coffee professional.

This is a full-time permanent position you must be available to work Monday to Friday, 6:00pm to 2:30am.

Key facets of the role:

• Operating Brambati green loading and 600kg Roaster, maintaining a continuous flow of product. + achieving production targets.
• Preparing and completing accurate records for QC and maintenance.
• Receiving, moving, checking, and storing all green bean goods between the warehouse, green bean storage facility and holding bins;
• Effectively communicate with production supervisors and roasters on roasting schedules to determine beans required/queuing arrangements
• Safely operating the forklift and other industrial tools;
• Committed to safety and quality assurance, and SQF procedures.
• Utilising and analysing roasting software.
• General cleaning and housekeeping.

What skills and knowledge do I need?

• Prior experience in food manufacturing.
• Previous roasting experience and coffee quality knowledge is prefered but not essential.
• A mechanically-minded individual with a high aptitude in automated equipment operation.
• An understanding of SQF, HACCP and GMP with strong attention to detail, safety and reliability.
• Committed to quality in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to follow policy, procedures and instructions.
• Confidence using technology & systems.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines under pressure in fast-moving environment.
• A high level of communication, organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills
