Job summary

Health Workforce Queensland supports an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in Bowen for a General Practitioner and/or Registrar role. The clinic delivers integrated primary care, with emphasis on Aboriginal health checks, chronic disease management, and preventative care within a multidisciplinary team.

The service expands as the workforce grows, offering bulk-billing chronic care and housing programs, with a community-led model of care and strong governance.

Qualifications

• General registration with the Medical Board of Australia is required.
• Experience delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Checks is highly regarded.
• Experience using Best Practice clinical software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Checks and health assessments.
• Develop and review GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements.
• Cervical screening referrals and occasional home or nursing home visits as needed.
