Job summary

Health Workforce invites a General Practitioner to join a well-established regional practice in Bowen, North Queensland. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive primary care across all ages, within a bulk-billing, community-focused setting.

You will work with practice nurses, reception staff and fellow GPs in a collaborative team, with flexible full- or part-time arrangements and a commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA
• Vocational registration in General Practice (FRACGP or FACRRM)
• Current Medicare provider eligibility for Medicare-rebateable services
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Knowledge of Australian general practice standards and governance

Responsibilities

• Develop individualised management plans in consultation with patients
• Provide chronic disease management, care planning and ongoing monitoring
• Deliver women’s, men’s, children’s and older persons’ healthcare within scope
• Prescribe medications and arrange investigations, referrals and follow-up care
• Recognise and manage urgent presentations with escalation to emergency care when required
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records
• Ensure follow-up of investigations, results, referrals and treatments
• Deliver culturally sensitive, inclusive care
• Participate in clinical governance and quality-improvement activities
• Contribute to accreditation and continuous-improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and external providers for coordinated patient care
