Sante Recruitment presents a substantive opportunity for a Specialist Gastroenterologist to join South West Healthcare on the picturesque Great South Coast of Victoria. This salaried role supports a broad, regional gastroenterology service with inpatient, outpatient and procedural duties.

The successful candidate will lead endoscopy services, contribute to teaching and quality initiatives, and enjoy a coastal lifestyle while advancing a growing regional program.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with advanced training in Gastroenterology, or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Specialist Registration, or eligibility for Specialist Registration, with AHPRA.
• Extensive experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary team skills.
• Experience teaching and supervising junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient gastroenterology clinics
• Upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy
• Participation in the weekday gastroenterology consultation roster
• Inpatient gastroenterology management
• Teaching, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and medical students
• Participation in quality improvement and service development initiatives
