Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Coal Mining Operator for Blackwater Mine in Queensland. You will report to the Coal Team and safely operate mining equipment to deliver daily production targets on a lifestyle roster with day and night shifts.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, reporting faults, and working closely with Supervisors to maintain safe operations and a productive team environment at one of Bowen Basin's significant mining sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating mining equipment in open-cut mining, specifically Haul Trucks.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to follow instructions with sound judgement and situational awareness.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Good communication with Supervisors and site personnel.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a range of mining equipment in accordance with site procedures and standards.
• Contributing to the safe and efficient production of coal.
• Conducting pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Identifying and reporting equipment faults, hazards and potential operational issues.
• Working closely with Supervisors and fellow Operators to achieve daily production targets.
• Supporting a positive and respectful team environment.
