Job summary

Department of Resources QLD invites applications for a Project Officer in the Coal Assessment Hub, based in Rockhampton or Townsville. You will support the assessment of exploration and mining proposals, environmental impact statements, and spatial planning projects while undertaking research, analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Town Planning, Law, or related disciplines is mandatory.
• Sound analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Experience supporting assessment, regulatory or administrative processes is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support assessment of exploration and mining proposals, environmental impact statements and spatial planning projects.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and submissions on complex matters.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and government agencies to gather information.
• Contribute to legislative and policy reviews and maintain project records.
