Job summary

Toowoomba Hockey Association in Queensland seeks a dynamic Coaching Manager to design and implement a coach development framework and drive program success. You will collaborate with clubs, coaches, athletes, volunteers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality coaching and participation outcomes.

The role leads a team of Casual Development Officers, develops coaching pathways and strengthens THA’s representative program while aligning with state championships and national ambitions.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Hockey Australia/FIH Coaching Accreditation.
• Proven experience delivering high-quality programs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, players, families, officials and community clubs.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with experience managing training programs, selection processes, and representative team preparation.
• A proactive, forward-thinking mindset with the ability to continually enhance and develop new programs to boost participation.
• Experience with Indoor Hockey, Hockey 5s and the development of officials, supporting THA’s ambition to be a national leader in these areas.
• Ability to contribute to a network of national and international hockey contacts.
• Interest in embracing new technologies to support coaching, communication and program delivery.
• Ability to use social media and digital communication channels to engage the THA community.

• High performance: Support athletes and representative teams to prepare effectively for state, national and international competitions. You will also design initiatives that develop players at all skill levels and build depth across THA’s representative program.

About the role

As Coaching Manager, you will design and implement a coach development framework for THA and drive the operational success of our hockey programs. The role will work closely with the Hockey Manager, THA clubs, representative coaches, athletes, parents, volunteers and key hockey stakeholders to ensure coaching and participation programs are aligned, well communicated and delivered to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Relocation support to assist with moving costs for interstate or overseas applicants.
• Communications allowance of $50 per month.
