Job summary

Journey Beyond is seeking experienced Coach Drivers to support the Expedition Ghan Season, operating from Coober Pedy and later touring Victoria. You will be responsible for safe operation, engaging guest experiences, and flexible rosters across multiple locations in Australia.

You will bring a strong safety mindset, excellent customer service, and practical mechanical skills to perform basic maintenance and keep coaches in top condition for daily tours.

Qualifications

• HR Licence required.
• South Australian Driver Accreditation required.
• Working with Children (Employment) clearance essential.
• Senior First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Satisfactory national criminal history check.
• Demonstrated coach driving experience.
• Strong safety focus and fatigue management competency.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Basic mechanical knowledge helpful.
• Excellent personal presentation and Can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standard of customer service to all passengers, creating a positive experience.
• Comply with company and department safety policies and procedures.
• Consistently ensure the safety of yourself, passengers and vehicle.
• Provide interactive and engaging day tours for guests.
• Clean and maintain the inside and outside of the Coach, and assist with cleaning other coaches for next day tours.
• Work a roster of 5 days on, 2 off.

About the Role

Journey Beyond is currently seeking experienced and passionate Coach Drivers to join our team to support our Expedition Ghan Season, in Coober Pedy from April to November. In December to March you will tour to Victoria, covering areas such as Stawell, Grampians, Inverleigh, Golden Plains Shire and attractions in Melbourne. These positions are central to ensuring a high level of service delivery for guests during off train excursions.

Coach drivers will be responsible for the complete operation and safety of the coach. You will be a confident individual with excellent communication skills to actively engage with our guests, ensuring an excellent guest experience. You will also have extensive knowledge and experience in the tourism and/or transport industry.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Deliver high standard of customer service to all passengers / customers, creating a positive experience on every service
• Comply with company and department safety policies & procedures
• Consistently ensure the safety of yourself, your passengers and your vehicle
• Provide interactive and engaging day tours for guests
• Clean and maintain the inside and outside of Coach, and assist with cleaning and detailing, of other coaches to prepare for next day tours.
• You will work a varied roster of 5 days on, 2 off

In addition, we expect you to be able to manage your time well and conduct pre-departure safety checks. From time to time you may also have to perform minor mechanical repairs to the coach. All meals and accommodation are paid for by the company and departure from locations will be from Adelaide.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Current HR drivers' licence
• South Australian Driver Accreditation
• Working with Children (Employment) clearance
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
• Satisfactory national criminal history check
• Demonstrated coach driving experience
• An outstanding safety focus, including basic fatigue management competency and a commitment to your own fitness for duty
• Experience delivering excellent customer service
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Exceptional personal presentation and 'can do' attitude
