The successful applicant will require a current and recognised trade qualification as an electrical trades-person, senior first aid certificate and safe working qualifications or be willing to obtain safe working qualifications. Experience across various maintenance activities is highly desirable, with knowledge and experience of power generation, electrical, air-conditioning systems and mechanical systems. The successful applicant will be an effective team player amongst the team, collaborating and communicating effectively to ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance is carried out over the train.
This position will require working across all of our trains, The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern, Vintage Rail Journeys and Overland for up to 7 days at a time, and duties will include but are not limited to ensuring the safe and effective operation of all electrical and mechanical systems on train, managing power generational units and inspection of trains at various locations. This position is physically demanding and will require you to work on your feet for long periods of time and in confined spaces.
