Job summary

Unique Metals Laser is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for our Tullamarine, Victoria facility. You will program production jobs using CAD and SigmaNEST, review drawings, and provide technical support to customers and internal teams.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will collaborate with production and sales estimators to ensure efficient, accurate programming and seamless production workflows across multiple sites in Australia. Eligibility of Australian working rights applies.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Programmer in laser/plasma manufacturing environments.
• Proficient with CAD software and SigmaNEST.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Program production jobs using CAD and SigmaNEST.
• Review drawings and customer requirements for accurate programming.
• Provide technical support and resolve programming/cutting issues.
• Collaborate with Sales Estimators to provide technical advice.
• Liaise with production teams to meet customer and production needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve programming efficiency and outcomes.
• Assist with various projects as directed by the Operations Manager.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team at our Tullamarine, Victoria facility.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring our production requirements are programmed accurately and efficiently, while providing technical support to both our customers and internal teams.

• Programming production jobs using industry-standard CAD and SigmaNEST software
• Reviewing drawings and customer requirements to ensure accurate and efficient programming
• Providing technical support and resolving programming and cutting-related issues
• Working closely with Sales Estimators to provide technical advice and support
• Liaising with production teams to ensure jobs are programmed to meet customer and production requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve programming efficiency and production outcomes
• Assisting with various projects and tasks as required by the Operations Manager

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a CNC Programmer within a laser cutting, plasma or similar manufacturing environment
• Experience using industry-standard CAD and SigmaNEST software
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business
• Sound computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and a strong attention to detail
• Experience in laser or plasma programming will be highly regarded, however, we are also open to candidates with strong transferable experience.
