Recruit Australia in Braeside is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our client on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on setting, operating and programming Sliding Head CNC lathes, performing small-batch runs of 50–100 components with Fanuc controls.

You will read engineering drawings, ensure high quality and work effectively in a collaborative workshop environment. The position offers a 4-day work week, day shift, and a competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• Trade background as a CNC Machinist or similar.
• Strong experience with Sliding Head / Swiss-type CNC lathes (Star, Citizen, Tornos etc.).
• Ability to program, set and operate Fanuc-based machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable and able to work in a team environment.

Well-established and successful Australian-owned engineering business based in Braeside requires an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist for a permanent full-time position.

This company specialises in the prototyping and production of high-precision components for the oil & gas, transport, mining and various other industries. They have a modern, clean workshop fitted with the latest machining technology.

This is a permanent full-time role worked over 4 days per week, offering excellent work-life balance on day shift.

The primary purpose of this position is to set, operate and program Sliding Head CNC lathes. You will be working on small batch runs (typically 50-100 components) and using Fanuc controls.
