Job summary

PlasmaLeap Technologies in Camperdown, Sydney is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a contract leave-cover role. You will set up and run a SYIL X9 CNC mill with Siemens 828D, producing prototype and small-batch components and maintaining tight tolerances.

The role requires reading blueprints, applying quality controls, and collaborating with engineering and production teams. Autonomy, strong attention to detail, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant vocational qualification in machining or engineering.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a contract role.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• This position is suited to an experienced, hands-on CNC Machinist who is comfortable working autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce components according to specifications
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate machining
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
