Job summary

CyberCX in Canberra seeks a Principal Consultant to lead complex cloud security engagements, mentor consultants and shape the practice strategy. You will work with government and enterprise stakeholders, delivering high-impact outcomes while evolving services and governance across the Cloud Security & Solutions capability.

You will combine strategic leadership with client delivery, building trusted relationships and driving cross-team collaboration to ensure seamless outcomes for customers.

Qualifications

• Current IRAP Assessor status required.
• Extensive knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM).
• Bachelor-level qualification in a relevant field.
• Security certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP or ISO LA/LI preferred.
• 7+ years' experience developing or delivering security strategies and frameworks.
• Direct experience with cloud technologies and cloud security principles.
• Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; agile and resilient mindset.
• Proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud security consulting engagements with CyberCX standards and ISM alignment.
• Manage large, complex projects including governance, risk and QA.
• Build trusted client relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Prepare and present clear deliverables for technical and executive audiences.
• Support practice strategy development and execution.
• Establish governance, reporting and performance mechanisms.
• Identify and drive process improvements across the practice.
• Mentor consultants and develop capability within the team.
• Refine services and approaches in line with industry trends.
