Job summary

Talenza is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer (AWS) to join their security team in Sydney on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on strengthening cloud security controls across AWS environments, driving remediation and automation, and embedding security into CI/CD and IaC pipelines.

You will collaborate with cloud platform, engineering and security teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement controls and raise security maturity across the organisation's cloud landscape.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Cloud Security Engineer, DevSecOps or Cloud Security-focused role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience, particularly across cloud security services and best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of cloud security tooling including vulnerability management, CSPM/CNAPP platforms, SIEM integrations or similar technologies.
• Scripting and automation experience using Python or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of IAM, security governance, container security, logging and monitoring.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

Cloud Security Engineer (AWS Security) | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Sydney (Hybrid) Salary: Up to $150k + super Duration: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract with the potential view of going perm after 12 months

Our client, a well-known Australian organisation, is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join their Security team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening cloud security controls, improving security posture across AWS environments, and driving remediation and automation initiatives at scale.

You’ll work closely with cloud platform, engineering and security teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement security controls, and embed security best practices across the organisation's cloud landscape.
