Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Sydney. The role focuses on securing cloud environments across AWS and Azure, implementing governance, and enforcing security controls.

You will work with DevSecOps practices, including secure pipelines, credential management, and vulnerability remediation, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Experience and Skills requirement:

• Strong experience securing cloud environments across AWS and Azure, including cloud security architecture, security posture management, governance, compliance, and implementation of security controls.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Security Hub, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, GuardDuty, AWS Config, Azure Policy, and related cloud-native security services for threat detection, security monitoring, compliance assessment, and remediation.
• Experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD security using Azure DevOps Pipelines, including pipeline hardening, secure build and release practices, code signing, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, software supply chain security, and integration of security controls into delivery pipelines.
• Strong understanding of secrets and key management using Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, HSM-backed solutions, certificate management, encryption, and automated credential rotation.
• Experience identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities across cloud, infrastructure, operating systems, containers, and applications using tools such as Qualys, CrowdStrike, Prisma Cloud, Microsoft Defender, and AWS Security Hub.
• Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Zero Trust principles, Conditional Access, and least-privilege security models.
• Good understanding of network and infrastructure security, including Firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, network segmentation, private connectivity, DNS security, Network Security Groups, Security Groups, and hybrid cloud security architectures.
• Experience implementing and maintaining cloud security guardrails, policy-as-code, compliance frameworks, security baselines, and automated remediation mechanisms across AWS and Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, with emphasis on secure infrastructure deployment, policy compliance, and security control implementation.
• Experience working within Agile, DevOps, and Security Engineering teams, collaborating across development, infrastructure, architecture, and cyber security functions.
• Strong capability in security monitoring, compliance reporting, incident response, threat management, and cloud security operations within enterprise-scale environments
