Job summary

NSW Data Analytics Centre (DAC) is seeking a Cyber SecOps Engineer to strengthen cloud security across Azure and SaaS platforms, implement security controls, and drive SecOps automation. This hands-on role focuses on identifying risks, hardening environments, and maintaining security postures in a complex cloud landscape.

You will work with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security teams to monitor threats, respond to incidents, and advance ISO27001 compliance across Azure and SaaS ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure security services including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Entra ID, Azure Policy, and PIM/JIT.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls in Azure and hardening subscriptions.
• Experience with IAM technologies: MFA, Conditional Access, PAM, and Just-In-Time access.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (Qualys, Defender VM) and risk remediation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and remediate cloud security controls across Azure and SaaS platforms.
• Monitor security alerts and investigate incidents using MS Sentinel and related tools.
• Support identity security across Entra ID and Okta, including MFA and CA policies.
• Lead vulnerability management activities, patching, and remediation tracking.
• Support governance and ISO27001 alignment across cloud environments.
