Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Network Development Engineer to join the Bere Operations team in Sydney, NSW. You will help design, operate, and optimize global networking infrastructure, collaborating with software, hardware, and security engineers to keep services resilient and scalable.

The role emphasizes leadership in complex incidents, proactive engineering, and automation. You’ll build robust monitoring, support large-scale events, and drive standardised processes while mentoring

Qualifications

4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment.
1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

Provide on‑shift network operations support to diagnose and mitigate large‑scale events.
Drive deep dives for large events, document findings and drive corrective actions.
Improve detection by designing and implementing new alerts.
Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
Troubleshoot recurring platform issues and engage senior engineers for full resolution.
Work with Engineering & Deployment to ensure operational readiness for new deployments.
Drive standards across the network and ensure compliance with policies.
Create and review SOPs, knowledge transfer material and related docs.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks via scripts and tools.
Contribute toward hiring and developing team members.
