Job summary

We Dream. We Design. We Deliver. hummgroup is seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join our Azure-focused delivery team in a fast-moving environment. You’ll own cloud deployments, automate with IaC, and contribute across the full cloud lifecycle, including data integration and security.

You’ll work across Azure, with growing AWS exposure, building reliable, scalable solutions while enabling mature CI/CD practices and cost optimisation. Join us to help shape innovation.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Azure services and deployments.
• Experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps and data integration via ADF.
• Solid understanding of RBAC/IAM, security practices and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
• Provision and manage Azure and AWS infrastructure with IaC for consistency.
• Support and optimise ADF pipelines and cloud integrations for reliability.
• Enforce secure cloud practices, RBAC/IAM, and cost-effective platform services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deployments and incidents.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

As a Cloud Engineer – Azure, you’ll work hands-on across cloud platforms, automation, and integrations, supporting both day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of how teams build and deploy in the cloud.

No day is average athummbut here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Terraform to enable secure, repeatable deployments
• Provision and manage Azure (and some AWS) infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, driving consistency and scalability
• Support and optimise Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines and cloud integrations, including troubleshooting and performance improvements
• Implement and maintain secure cloud practices across integrations, access control (RBAC/IAM), and platform services (Storage, Functions, containers)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deployments, incidents, and platform enhancements, contributing to automation, reliability, and cost optimisation

You’re a hands-on Cloud Engineer with strong Azure expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable cloud solutions. We're also looking for someone who brings:

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure, including subscriptions, core services, and provisioning - particularly Azure Data Factory (essential)
• Proven experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, alongside CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps
• Solid experience building and supporting ADF pipelines, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues
• Practical knowledge of Azure security and cost management, including RBAC, security groups, and optimising cloud spend
• Confident supporting production environments—able to diagnose cloud incidents, identify root causes, and drive remediation quickly
