Job summary

HESTA is seeking a Cloud Engineer on a 12-month contract to own cloud automation across AWS and Azure. You will design and deliver scalable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and security-focused operations in collaboration with Information Security and business stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on DevSecOps leadership, expertise in AWS and Azure services, and IaC with Terraform or Azure DevOps. You’ll contribute to secure, scalable environments and support production operations.

Qualifications

An IT or Engineering degree, with cloud technologies experience (essential).
AWS DevOps Engineer certification, with Azure certification highly regarded.
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, API Gateway, VPC, EC2, AWS Batch and IAM.
Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Virtual networks, VMs and RBAC.
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Azure DevOps.
Background in incident management, problem-solving and production support.
Exposure to container tools like ECS and Fargate, and full stack application development.

Responsibilities

Design and build cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code.
Lead the implementation of DevOps and DevSecOps practices across the organisation.
Act as an escalation point for production incidents and drive ongoing operational improvements.
Provide technical guidance on cloud automation, architecture and vendor management.
