Job summary

Preacta Recruitment is seeking a Cloud and Platform Engineer to build, automate, and support enterprise cloud and platform services in line with architecture and security standards. You will implement cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliable day-to-day operation across systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, IaC tooling, and DevOps practices within Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on engineering across Azure public cloud and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Good knowledge of cloud governance, security, resilience and cost optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments and platform services.
• Develop and maintain IaC, scripts and CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning and patching.
• Provide escalated technical support, monitoring and lifecycle maintenance of cloud/platform services.

The Cloud and Platform Engineer is responsible for building, automating, and supporting enterprise cloud and platform services in line with agreed architecture, security and technology standards. This hands-on role delivers and maintains scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based and on-premises platforms, ensuring reliable day-to-day operation and seamless integration across business systems and services.

Key responsibilities include: Build and Deployment: Implement, configure and deploy cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments and platform services in accordance with approved designs, standards and change processes.

Automation and Engineering: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, scripts and CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning, configuration and patching, reducing manual effort and configuration drift.

Operations and Support: Provide escalated technical support, monitoring, performance tuning and lifecycle maintenance of cloud and platform services, including participation in on-call and after-hours change activity.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work with architects, product owners, engineering squads, cyber security and external vendors to deliver and run platform solutions that support digital transformation initiatives.

Risk and Compliance: Apply security, regulatory and operational standards in build and run activities, including patching, vulnerability remediation, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity testing.

Requirements: Minimum of three to five years' hands‑on engineering experience across Azure public cloud and Microsoft 365

Demonstrated experience with DevOps toolsets

Practical scripting and automation experience (for example PowerShell, Bash or Python) and use of Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Bicep, ARM or Terraform

Good working knowledge of public cloud management, governance, security, resilience and cost optimisation

Strong troubleshooting skills across hybrid environments, with experience working to defined service levels within an ITSM framework

Experience working within agile teams and contributing to sprint planning, estimation and delivery

Azure Storage and Databases: Azure SQL Elastic Pool and Databases, Azure Blob, Files and Tables Storage

DevOps: Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise
