Job summary

The Department of Education in Victoria seeks a Cloud Platform Administrator to manage and support our cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance. You will be responsible for operating Azure and AWS services, monitoring health and capacity, and coordinating backups and disaster recovery.

The role also involves driving automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and MSPs to deliver reliable cloud services.

Job description

This role is responsible for the administration of cloud infrastructure and platform services, helping drive automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives as a part of the Data Centre Exit Project.

Please note that this is a fixed term role that will end on the 1st of July, 2028.

Cloud Platform Administration

• Administer and support Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Manage cloud resources including virtual machines, networking, storage, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives.

Security and Compliance

• Implement and maintain cloud security controls.
• Support identity and access management processes through Microsoft Entra ID.
• Monitor vulnerabilities, security alerts, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

Service Management and Support

• Contribute to incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
• Maintain cloud operational documentation and configuration records.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and managed service providers.
