Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Ward Manager for AMU 3 to deliver exceptional nursing care and transformational leadership on the ward. The role carries 24-hour managerial responsibility, ensuring high standards of patient care and effective staff development.

You will lead clinical governance, staff training and performance, while working within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct to drive improvements across the department.

Qualifications

• Must be an NMC-registered nurse with current practices knowledge.
• Experience in ward management and delivering high-quality nursing care.
• Ability to lead transformational change and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day ward operations with planning, allocation and evaluation.
• Provide specialist knowledge to nursing staff and promote evidence-based care.
• Lead governance, risk management and incident response within the ward.
• Ensure staffing, training compliance and effective communication with patients and carers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and timely transfers.
• Oversee recruitment, PDPs, appraisals and staff development initiatives.
• Represent the ward in senior meetings and contribute to nursing strategies.
