Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pharmacy services for oncology trials and SAS medicines, including trial setup and ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage storage, inventory, manufacturing, dispensing and documentation of trial medicines.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to support compliance with GMP and TGA requirements.
  • Supervise safe distribution of medicines and provide guidance to staff in the trial environment.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and uphold high professional standards in trial management.

Join Blacktown Medical Oncology Research (BMOR), a leading oncology research service within Western Sydney Local Health District. Our patient-centred team combines comprehensive cancer care with clinical research, delivering Phase I-IV sponsored and investigator-initiated trials in a collaborative, highly specialised environment.

What You'll Be Doing

In this specialist role, you'll provide expert pharmacy coordination and clinical support for oncology trials and non-registered medicines. You'll play an important role in ensuring trial medicines are managed safely, accurately and in accordance with regulatory, manufacturing and hospital requirements.



  • Coordinate pharmacy services for clinical trials, including trial set-up, pre-trial meetings, ongoing monitoring and protocol requirements.

  • Manage the storage, inventory, manufacturing, dispensing and documentation of clinical trial and SAS medicines.

  • Develop and maintain procedures that support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and Therapeutic Goods Administration requirements.

  • Supervise the safe and accurate distribution of medicines and provide guidance to pharmacists, technicians, students and other support staff.

  • Contribute to quality improvement, quality assurance and performance initiatives while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Essential Criteria


  • Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmacy. Must satisfy Grade 2 classification as per NSW Health Employees Pharmacists Award.

  • Full and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA.

  • Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and liaise effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in management of clinical trials or research preferably in a hospital setting.

  • Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles in clinical trials management.

  • Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiative.

  • Demonstrated advanced skills in information technology.
