Job summary

Smith Nephew is seeking a Clinical Support Representative SPM/Ortho in Townsville to provide clinical support and training for orthopaedic and endoscopy products, aligned with sales strategy, and to foster strong customer relationships.

The role is permanent part-time 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), reporting to Sales Manager, with responsibilities across enabling theatre procedures, training schedules, and cross-functional collaboration within the state sales team.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical field/theatre or qualification in science/medical related discipline.
• Experience in orthopaedic/endoscopy.
• Understanding of orthopaedic/endoscopy products and clinical terminology.
• Knowledge of theatre environment and procedures.
• Knowledge of Australian healthcare system.
• Selling skills knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to customers while maintaining product knowledge.
• Support surgical procedures in hospital environments as needed.
• Manage clinical training and in-servicing schedule aligned with sales strategy.
• Enhance operating efficiencies including surgeon preferences and service initiatives.
• Maintain and develop customer profiles and preferences.
• Foster teamwork and execution across the state sales team.

Clinical Support Representative SPM/Ortho– Townsville

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Clinical Support Representative will provide clinical support, and undertake training activities, for products and services in the clinical environment, in line with sales and marketing strategies, to ensure business objectives are achieved. Additionally, you will maintain and develop relationships with customers.

This is a permanent part time role covering 0.6 FTE (3 days per week).

What will you be doing?

• Provide exceptional clinical support to customers on products whilst maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
• Support surgical procedures in the hospital environment on a range of products on an ‘as required’ basis.
• Manage the clinical training and in-servicing schedule in alignment with the sales strategy.
• Enhance operating efficiencies including management of surgeon preferences and integration of warehouse and customer service initiatives.
• Ensure the appropriate execution of the shared calendar.
• Support the maintenance/ development of customer profiles/ preferences.
• Foster good teamwork, communication and execution across the state sales team.

What will you need to be successful?

• You must have proven experience in medical field/ theatre setting or tertiary qualifications in science or medical related discipline.
• Proven experience in the orthopaedic and/ or endoscopy field will be essential.
• Extensive understanding of orthopaedic and/ or endoscopy products and industry - technical terminology and clinical knowledge
• Good understanding of the operating theatre environment and surgical procedures
• Good understanding of the Australian public and private healthcare system
• A knowledge of selling skills
• Computer proficiency in MS Office
