Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking a Clinical Support Nurse to support Emergency Department education and clinical skills development at Peninsula Health’s Frankston site. The role focuses on guiding staff, delivering education, and ensuring compliance with evidence-based practice and hospital policies.

The position is part-time with 48 hours per fortnight, located at Peninsula University Hospital in Frankston, Victoria.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Extensive experience in Emergency Care.
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care.
• Experience in teaching or supporting learners.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
• Postgraduate education qualification or working towards (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and teaching to nurses to develop high quality clinical skills.
• Support learners across all levels with education and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Clinical Educators, Learning Hub and Nurse Unit Managers.

Clinical Support Nurse - Emergency Department

• Ongoing Part Time (48 hours per fortnight)

The Team & Role

The clinical support nurse provides guidance and teaching to nurses to develop high quality clinical skills. The clinical support nurse works competently within their scope of practice delivering and facilitating education in compliance with evidence-based practice as well as hospital policy and guidelines.

The clinical support nurse demonstrates flexibility in supporting all levels of staff across the dedicated area. They work closely with the Clinical Educators, the Learning Hub and the Nurse Unit Managers to ensure learners are provided with a supported and quality learning experience focussed on risk mitigation, and developing staff along the novice to expert continuum.

The clinical support nurse reinforces theoretical education and assists learners to develop the necessary skills, attitudes and knowledge for specialty practice.

Skills & Experience Required

• Registered Nurse with current condition-free AHPRA registration
• Current and extensive experience of working in Emergency Care
• Post Graduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care studies
• Prior experience in teaching or supporting learners
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or working towards (desirable)
• Post graduate education qualification or working towards (desirable)
