Job summary

Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, VIC, is seeking a Clinical Perfusionist to support cardiopulmonary bypass for elective and urgent cardiac procedures. You will contribute to the Perfusion Service aligned with ANZCP requirements.

The role includes advanced extracorporeal support (ECMO, VADs, IABP), equipment management, and participation in clinical governance and service development within a specialist cardiac surgery team.

• Appropriate qualifications and current professional accreditation to practise as a Clinical Perfusionist in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiopulmonary bypass and perfusion support for elective and urgent cardiac surgical procedures.
• Provide advanced extracorporeal support, including ECMO, VADs and IABP, within your experience and scope of practice.
• Support the safe management of perfusion equipment, consumables and clinical processes.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, service development and the introduction of new technologies.

Job description

The role also contributes to the coordination, quality and ongoing development of the Perfusion Service in line with organisational standards and ANZCP professional requirements.

What you need

• For Grade 3 appointment, you will also demonstrate advanced perfusion capability, including ECMO, VADs and IABP, as well as leadership, supervision or operational experience.
• We are looking for a Clinical Perfusionist who brings strong clinical skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to working within a specialist cardiac surgery team.
