Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District in Hillston, ACT, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead nursing education, mentor staff and support safe, evidence-based care. You will assess learning needs, design education programs and foster a positive learning culture promoting professional growth and quality patient outcomes.

The role offers hybrid work options where appropriate, temporary part-time terms until 22 November 2027, and a remuneration of AUD 124,273.70 – 128,301.89 per year pro rata

Qualifications

• Current registration as an RN with AHPRA, eligible to practice.
• Proven clinical teaching and education facilitation experience.
• Competency assessment experience in healthcare settings.
• Strong communication, mentoring and interpersonal abilities.
• Postgraduate education qualifications are highly regarded.
• Hold NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required.
• Working With Children Check current.

About the role:

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a pivotal role in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence of nursing staff to deliver safe, evidence-based and person-centred care. Working closely with clinicians, students and new graduates, you will assess learning needs, design and facilitate education programs, and foster a positive learning culture that supports professional growth and quality patient outcomes.

What you'll be doing:

• Assess, develop, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs that support nursing staff within the service.
• Facilitate orientation, onboarding and transition programs for new and existing employees to build clinical capability and confidence.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to students, novice clinicians, new graduates and nursing staff.
• Promote best practice, evidence-based care and continuous professional development through education, coaching and role modelling.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, education resources, policy development and clinical practice improvement activities across the service.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated clinical experience within the relevant specialty area and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
• Proven experience in clinical teaching, education facilitation and competency assessment within a healthcare setting.
• Highly developed communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and develop nursing staff at all stages of their career.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, with postgraduate education qualifications (or working towards) highly regarded.
• A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required
• A current Working With Children Check
