Qualifications

• Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and post-registration qualifications
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated computer literacy
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and risk management
• Current NSW Drivers Licence

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structured learning for nurses within NSLHD
• Provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support
• Involve in hospital orientation and mandatory training
• Teach nursing courses within NSLHD and external sites
• Develop and teach NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (travel to other LHD sites)

Where you'll be working

The Northern Beaches Hospital Emergency Department provides care to both adult and paediatric patients in a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will work full-time across morning and evening 8-hour shifts, collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Our department is supported by experienced nursing and medical leadership, a dedicated education team, and a culture that values teamwork, innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth. What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD.The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students. The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD. The Clinical Nurse Educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
• Current NSW Drivers Licence.
