Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator (DPU) to join the Education team on a 0.6 EFT, fixed-term parental leave cover from December 2026 to December 2027.

The role delivers clinical and theoretical education, mentors nursing staff and coordinates training activities across the Day Procedure Unit, ensuring a highly skilled workforce and safe, high-quality patient care within a supportive learning culture.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate qualification in a specialty area, or currently working towards completion.
• Recent acute clinical experience within a surgical, perioperative or similar healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical education, training, mentoring and supporting the development of others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• A passion for education, workforce development and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical and theoretical education programs tailored to learning needs of Day Procedure Unit staff.
• Provide mentorship, coaching and clinical supervision.
• Coordinate education sessions, protected learning time, in-services and mandatory training activities.
• Provide clinical support and guidance to new employees, graduate nurses, nursing students and postgraduate nurses.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and education teams to identify workforce learning needs and develop education initiatives.
• Contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives and learning programs that support perioperative and day procedure practice.
