Latrobe Regional Health invites applications for a part-time (0.6EFT) Clinical Nurse Educator in the Day Procedure Unit. You will develop, deliver and evaluate education programs for nursing staff, supporting professional development and a culture of learning within LRH’s Education & Training Department.

The role focuses on mentorship, clinical supervision and delivering targeted education to new staff, graduates and postgraduate nurses, ensuring a skilled workforce delivering safe, high-quality

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in a specialty area, or actively working towards completion.
• Recent acute clinical experience in surgical/perioperative settings.
• Experience in clinical education, training, mentoring and developing others.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical and theoretical education programs for Day Procedure Unit staff.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and clinical supervision to nursing staff.
• Coordinate education sessions, protected learning time, in-services and mandatory training.
• Offer clinical support and guidance to new staff, graduates and students.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers and education teams to identify learning needs.
• Contribute to curriculum development and learning programs for safe perioperative practice.

Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Clinical Nurse Educator (DPU) to join our growing on a part time (0.6EFT) fixed term basis for parental leave coverage (December 2026 to December 2027).

The Clinical Educator - Day Procedure Unit plays a pivotal role in supporting excellence in patient care through the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical education programs for nursing staff. Working closely with the Day Procedure Unit leadership team and the Education & Training Department, you will drive workforce capability, support professional development and foster a positive learning culture that aligns with Latrobe Regional Health's strategic objectives.

This role provides clinical education, mentorship and support to nursing staff across all stages of their professional journey, including new staff, graduate nurses, students and postgraduate nurses, ensuring a highly skilled and confident workforce committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.

The role of Clinical Nurse Educator (DPU) is to:

• Deliver high-quality clinical and theoretical education programs tailored to the learning needs of Day Procedure Unit staff.
• Support the ongoing professional development of nursing staff through mentoring, coaching and clinical supervision.
• Facilitate and coordinate education sessions, protected learning time, in-services and mandatory training activities.
• Provide clinical support and guidance to new employees, graduate nurses, nursing students and postgraduate nurses within the clinical environment.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and education teams to identify workforce learning needs and develop education initiatives.
• Contribute to curriculum development, continuous improvement initiatives and learning programs that support safe, contemporary perioperative and day procedure practice.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification in a specialty area, or currently working towards completion.
• Recent acute clinical experience within a surgical, perioperative or similar healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical education, training, mentoring and supporting the development of others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• A passion for education, workforce development and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
