Job summary

Metro North Mental Health’s Acute Care Team is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about mental health and crisis care to deliver recovery-focused, consumer-centred care in a dynamic community setting.

You will apply advanced clinical skills, provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team, and support teaching to consumers and families to move towards independence.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of consumer/patient centred care.
• Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
• Provide teaching to both consumers/patients and their families to facilitate learning and enable them to move towards independence.
• Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
