Job summary

The North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa, QLD, seeks an experienced midwife to deliver advanced, culturally responsive care across pregnancy, birth and postpartum. You will lead autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and mentor colleagues, shaping maternity services across remote North West Queensland.

You will contribute to quality improvement, education and research initiatives, strengthening services and ensuring optimal outcomes for women and babies in a unique regional

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant tertiary degree qualification and registration/licences.
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening including Criminal History checks.
• Vaccination evidence for Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and TB.
• Probation may apply.

About The Role

You will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, evidence-based and culturally responsive care to women and babies throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

Practising autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced clinical leadership, mentor and support other midwives, and contribute to quality improvement, education and research initiatives that strengthen maternity services across North West Queensland.

Requirements

• Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
• This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
• A period of probation may apply.
