Job summary

The Victoria Clinic, Prahran, part of Healthscope Hospitals, is seeking a trained cook to join our supportive team. You will prepare patient meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, and uphold food safety standards in a private psychiatric facility.

We value teamwork, development, and work-life balance, and offer flexible shifts across a 7-day roster. Relevant certificates and healthcare catering experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or equivalent is required.
• Certificate IV in management is preferred.
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate is required.
• Safe Food Handling certificate is required.
• Good HACCP knowledge and food safety understanding.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Pride in appearance and hygiene.
• Able to work a 7-day roster including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen area and equipment.
• Prepare meals for patients according to recipes.
• Monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures per safety standards.
• Implement the Food Safety Program.
• Apply dietary nutrition requirements in meal prep.
• Coordinate with management and ensure accreditation standards.
• Deliver excellent service to patients and staff.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
