Job summary

The Victoria Clinic in Prahran, part of Healthscope, is seeking a qualified cook to join our kitchen and help deliver high-quality meals to patients within a supportive team.

You will uphold hygiene standards, follow HACCP and food safety procedures, and work across a 7-day roster to ensure timely meal service.

This role values teamwork, professional development, and a patient‑centred approach to care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or equivalent; Certificate IV preferable.
• Minimum certificate level qualifications in management.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Certificate in Safe Food Handling.
• Good knowledge of HACCP regulations.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Pride in personal appearance and hygiene.
• Available for 7-day roster including weekend work.
• Experience in busy hospital or similar catering environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen area and equipment.
• Meal and food preparation for patients per recipe guide.
• Maintain temperatures of refrigerators and freezers per safety standards.
• Implement Food Safety Program.
• Sound knowledge dietary nutrition requirements.
• Demonstrated understanding of accreditation standards, WHS management and function coordinating.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Liaise with management.
