Job summary

Norwest Private Hospital in Bella Vista, Sydney, part of Healthscope, is seeking a Clinical Coding Manager to lead and develop the Clinical Coding team, drive coding quality and KPIs, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This onsite role reports to the Chief Health Information Manager within the HIS department.

The position offers a hands-on leadership opportunity in a collaborative, high-performing private hospital setting in Sydney's Norwest Business Park.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical coding within an acute healthcare environment.
• Leadership and staff development experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of private health funding models and activity-based funding.
• Eligibility for HIMAA membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and mentor the Clinical Coding team to deliver a high-quality coding service.
• Monitor coding performance, productivity and KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice coding standards.
• Foster a culture of learning through training, coaching and professional development.
• Assist the Chief HIM in the management and strategic direction of the HIS department.
