Job summary

Virescent Ventures is seeking an Investment Associate to join our climate tech investment team, ideally based in Sydney with Melbourne also considered. You will help identify, analyse and support founders and technologies accelerating the transition to a lower‑emissions future.

You will work closely with partners to source, evaluate, and execute investments, support portfolio companies, and contribute to investor reporting while advancing the practice of climate tech investing.

Qualifications

• Three to five+ years of post-tertiary work experience in relevant roles.
• Experience in venture capital, private equity, management consulting, corporate finance, investment banking or a start-up is highly regarded.
• Strong analytical and financial interpretation skills to test claims with diverse sources.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and market insight: research industry trends and market dynamics.
• Technology and commercial due diligence: analyze technologies and business models.
• Founder engagement: connect with teams building climate tech.
• Investment analysis: develop venture-focused financial models and valuations.
• Deal execution: prepare investment recommendations and review legal docs.
• Portfolio support: assist portfolio companies and explore follow-on opportunities.
• Fund operations: support investor reporting and enhance investment practices.
