Job summary

Southern Star Research in Australia seeks an experienced Head of Client Solutions to lead pre-award strategy and proposals across the portfolio. You will drive win rates, oversee two Directors of Strategy and the Head of Proposals, and work with BD, Operations, Finance and Marketing to coordinate high-quality responses.

You will design metrics, optimize processes, adopt new technologies, and ensure strategy, narrative, design and budgets align to deliver compelling proposals for clients.

Qualifications

• Formal training or capability in process improvement, change management, digital transformation, or AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong commercial operations, business development or bid leadership experience in CRO/biotech/healthcare.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-award strategy and proposals to lift win rate and volume.
• Oversee Directors of Strategy, Bid Manager and Head of Proposals, reporting to CEO.
• Shape prioritisation, resourcing and pursuit of opportunities end-to-end.
• Design metrics and drive process, tech improvements and accountability culture.
• Align strategy, narrative, design and budgets for high‑quality client responses.
