Job summary

Ascend Recruit Pty in Brisbane is seeking a Junior/Assistant Project Manager to help deliver civil and construction works across three sites, coordinating contractors and monitoring progress. This client-side role suits someone with hands-on construction or trade background aiming to move into project management and exposure to development from the owner's view.

A hands-on approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in construction, civil works or a relevant trade.
• Practical site experience and a strong understanding of construction processes.
• Experience as a Site Supervisor, Leading Hand, Project Coordinator, Site Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in project costs, progress claims and project delivery.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and internal stakeholders.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of civil and construction projects across three sites.
• Work alongside the project management team to oversee contractors and monitor site progress.
• Coordinate with builders, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with progress claims, project reporting and cost monitoring.
• Monitor programme, quality, safety and construction milestones.
• Attend site meetings, identify issues and help drive project outcomes.
• Support the broader development team throughout the construction and delivery process.
• Travel between sites, with a company vehicle provided for work-related travel.
