KMTech is seeking a Client Onboarding Technician in Melbourne to lead smooth onboarding for new clients across systems, users and services. This hands-on role combines technical setup with strong client communication and project coordination.

As our Client Onboarding Technician, you’ll play an important role in welcoming new clients to KMTech and ensuring their transition into our managed services environment is smooth, organised and technically sound.
This is a hands-on technical role with a strong client-facing element. You’ll work across technical onboarding, system configuration, IT audits and assessments, documentation, onsite coordination and client communication.
You’ll be involved from the early stages of onboarding through to successful handover, working closely with our Projects, Service Desk, Account Management and Sales teams to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Most importantly, you’ll help create a great first experience for our clients combining strong technical capability with clear communication, organisation and genuine customer care.
The underlying Onboarding profile specifically focuses on smooth technical integration, IT audits, onboarding frameworks and ongoing client updates.
Support the end-to-end technical onboarding of new KMTech clients, ensuring systems, users and services are transitioned smoothly
Complete IT audits and assessments, identifying non-standard configurations, risks and areas that don't align with IT best practice
Configure and deploy systems, software, devices and cloud services as part of the onboarding process
Follow established onboarding processes and Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS), keeping tasks on track and escalating risks or delays early
Coordinate onsite requirements, technician bookings and client availability to keep onboarding activities moving
Communicate directly with clients throughout onboarding, providing clear updates, confirming requirements and setting expectations
Create and maintain accurate technical and client documentation in line with KMTech standards
Ensure relevant client information is accurately captured and ready for handover to the Service Desk and wider KMTech team
Follow change control processes for modifications impacting production environments
Work closely with Projects, Service Desk, Account Managers, Sales, vendors and other stakeholders throughout the onboarding journey
Identify opportunities to improve onboarding processes, documentation and the overall client experience
Take ownership of issues, follow them through and ensure clients feel supported from day one
We’re looking for someone who is technically capable and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
You’ll ideally bring:
Experience in an IT support, MSP, projects, deployment or technical onboarding environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365, Windows and cloud services
Experience with software deployment, system configuration and IT service management
An understanding of networking, users, devices and general IT infrastructure
Experience working with ticketing or PSA systems such as ConnectWise
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
Excellent organisation and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, clients and deadlines
Confident, professional communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face
A genuine customer service mindset and the ability to build trust with clients
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
A proactive, accountable approach you "see it, own it, do it"
